Shawn Ginwright and Sabrina Evans-Ellis in Discussion on  Healing Centered Engagement: Webinar

New York, NY. — January 13, 2022 — Ramapo NYC (representing the recent mergers of Ramapo for Children, the Youth Development Institute, and the National School Climate Center) announced today that the organization will host an upcoming webinar entitled “Healing Centered Engagement: A Virtual Conversation” on January 21, 2021 from 1 p.m. to 2:15 p.m. EST.

“Healing Centered Engagement offers a unique chance for adults to build spaces that truly embody positive youth development,” said Executive Director of Ramapo NYC, Sabrina Evans-Ellis. “We are excited to learn how we can deepen our commitment to healing and growth.”

The webinar will be hosted by Sabrina Evans-Ellis, who has been working as a youth development specialist in nonprofit agencies for over 18 years. Joining her in conversation is Dr. Shawn Ginwright, the founder of Flourish Agenda and the creator of Healing Centered Engagement.

“Healing centered engagement offers an asset driven approach aimed at the holistic restoration of young peoples’ well-being,” writes Dr. Ginwright, professor in Education in the Africana Studies Department at San Francisco State University.  “The healing centered approach comes from the idea that people are not harmed in a vacuum, and well-being comes from participating in transforming the root causes of the harm within institutions.”

Ginwright, Ph.D., is a thought leader in youth development, the founder and CEO of Flourish Agenda, and is about to release his fourth book entitled, “The Four Pivots” on Jan 25, 2022.
