Thursday, June 27th, 2024

Dear School Climate Community,

We hope this message finds you well. As the 2023-24 school year comes to a close, we want to thank all of our school, district, and organization partners.  We are excited to witness an increased commitment to school climate nationwide and internationally since our founding nearly 30 years ago.

Like many organizations, the National School Climate Center (NSCC) faced significant challenges during and out of the COVID-19 pandemic, but we have been uplifted and encouraged by our longtime partners and new collaborators. Through these difficulties, we have remained dedicated to our mission of promoting safe, supportive learning environments, and focused on adapting and planning for the future. As we emerge into this new future, we are more committed than ever to helping schools and districts nurture the social, emotional, civic, and academic growth of all students.

We recognize the countless issues facing schools today (the lingering effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, mental health challenges, teacher retention, enrollment, calls to address social and racial justice, political polarization, and so much more). As a result, our work and focus on school climate is more crucial than ever to ensure our communities remain strong. A positive school climate is essential for student well-being, success, and their active citizenship. We are dedicated to continuing our legacy of strengthening communities, one school at a time. As we continue to engage with schools and districts nationwide, we are excited to explore new and innovative ways to support you.

This new identity reflects our continued dedication to providing evidence-based resources and supports for creating safe, supportive, inclusive, and equitable learning environments. Stay tuned for these and more exciting updates.

We invite you to join us in this new chapter as we work together to create safe, supportive, and thriving learning environments for all students.  Stay tuned for other upcoming opportunities to engage with us through webinars, workshops, and other events. We look forward to reconnecting and continuing this important journey with you.

Best regards,

The National School Climate Center Team
