Research Brief
The National School Climate Center is proud to announce a newly released Research Brief:
Social Inclusion of Students With Disabilities: a key component of school climate and a pathway for school improvement
(Click here to read the full brief)
This study analyzed school climate data from public schools across the United States, and delves into the integration of social inclusion within the school climate framework. The data was gathered using the Comprehensive School Climate Inventory (CSCI) during the 2023-2024 school year. The findings reveal a robust relationship between social inclusion and overall school climate, with five key dimensions identified as drivers of inclusion and school climate improvement. This research underscores the importance of incorporating social inclusion into school climate measurement tools, enabling schools to better understand their environments, meet the diverse needs of students, and create equitable, supportive learning atmospheres.
