Building Authentic Relationships in Early Childhood, Part I
Participants will explore the power of building authentic relationships with young children, and
be introduced to the critical concepts of a “relationship piggy bank” and attuned listening. They
will also work to identify practices for building relationships in their communities.

Building Authentic Relationships in Early Childhood, Part II
In the second session of this series, participants will explore & deepen practices for building
authentic relationships, building on the concepts of the first workshop of this series. They will
also be introduced to the critical concepts of the “hand model of the brain” and social-emotional
connectedness, and explore the ways in which building relationships with young children lays
the necessary foundation for learning.

Building Authentic Relationships in Early Childhood, Partnering with Parents
In this workshop, participants will explore the critical concepts of strategic role modeling,
perspective taking, and attuned listening within the context of their relationships with primary
caregivers.

Developing Skills in Early Childhood, Part I: In this session, participants will be introduced to the concept of behavior as a form of communication, and reflect upon the skills they want to develop in their communities. They will also be introduced to the critical concepts of the “hand model of the brain” and social-emotional connectedness, and explore the ways in which building relationships with young children lays the necessary foundation for learning.*Developing Skills in Early Childhood is a prerequisite for all other Developing Skills workshops.

Developing Skills in Early Childhood, Part II
In the second session of this series, participants will explore & deepen practices for developing
skills in early childhood, building on the concepts of the first workshop in this series. Specifically,
participants will be introduced to strategies and concepts related to expectations and structures
that support skill development in early childhood classrooms.

Developing Skills in Early Childhood, Meeting Sensory Needs
Participants will develop an understanding of sensory needs, identify ways to support and
include young children with a variety of sensory needs and abilities in their daycare or preschool
setting, and explore tools for self-management that can be implemented in their classrooms.

Developing Skills in Early Childhood, Using Visuals
Participants will be exposed to techniques for communicating with children who process
information differently, and for promoting social-emotional development in their daycare or
preschool setting.

Developing Skills in Early Childhood, Creating Behavior Plans
In this workshop, participants will be introduced to tools and a framework for developing
individualized student behavior plans.

Creating Community in Early Childhood
In the first part of this workshop series, participants will develop an understanding of the ways in
which setting clear expectations and establishing structures and routines is critical for settings
that serve young children.

Restoring Connections in Early Childhood
In this workshop, participants will define and identify triggers in themselves and young children.
They will also be introduced to a framework for understanding conflict as a cycle that begins
with stressful incidents that trigger difficult feelings. Participants will engage in a set of reflective
practices that will serve to strengthen and deepen work with young children, and develop a
self-care plan to help manage personal stress levels.
